CookeryHQ’s Vision for a Fairer, Creator-Driven Platform

Creators now earn 90% of advertising revenue, learn more at: How it works

Hello everyone!

Let’s chat about our platform and what we’re aiming for. My objective here is to ignite within you a spark of inspiration!

These days, most social media platforms like Twitter or Instagram focus on profits. They care more about their bottom line than the creators who make the content. The recent controversy with Reddit’s API is a perfect example of this problem. It’s clear we need a fairer way.

That’s got us thinking, ‘Where can we test out a more equal model?’ And what’s more universal than recipes? The internet is packed with recipe websites, from blogs to magazines and social food networks. So how can CookeryHQ be different?

It’s pretty straightforward. At CookeryHQ, every creator is seen as a direct stakeholder and part of the decision-making process! We split everything 50-50 between us—the developers and managers—and you, the creators. We handle all the technical and administrative stuff, including advertiser relationships. You just need to post your amazing recipes and promote your work. And yes, you’re free to post links or promote products within your recipes.

We’re not some huge corporation, we’re just two guys trying to make something cool. We really need your help!

CookeryHQ is as much YOUR platform as it is ours! This means creators get half of everything the platform earns. Each month, half of our revenue goes into a creators’ fund and is distributed among creators based on the number of views their recipes received that month. Plus, your voice matters in how we run things.

Come August, we’re planning to roll out a meal planner feature, empowering you to create… meal plans! Feel free to make these plans publicly accessible for free, or charge a modest fee (around $2-3). The platform will only retain a 10% cut from that fee, the other 90% go directly to the creator.

Together, we’ll enhance CookeryHQ, attracting new visitors. This proposed system, we believe, is fair and just.

If you have ideas on how we should distribute the revenue or new features we could add, please let us know! All questions are always welcome!

Right now, all this is just a plan. We’ve just been approved for displaying ads, so don’t expect to get much in the first month. But together, we can create something amazing! We can attract better advertisers, more viewers, and offer a better experience for our users.

For those who’ve read this far, I have a special offer. If you have a blog, we can transfer all your recipes to your CookeryHQ account! Just get in touch via Reddit, Twitter or Instagram.
